I don't care if Hillary was once a feminist, she has become the old boss

I admit it I have an abiding and debilitating deep streak of Anarchist angst, which historically has led to some disastrous alliances. In Spain the anarchists agreed to work with socialists, communists and trotskyists with the predictable end result. In the past I have been willing to set my ideological scruples aside to stand with the ISO and SWP, because of friendships and a shared desire to defeat injustice, stop fascists from parading through my home town and defend access to clinics. I did so in spite of being fully aware we shared little in common and groups like the ISO get involved in actons and movements to attract new members, even if it means leaving a shattered and gutted organization in their wake. But there have to be lines drawn in the sand beyond which we should refuse to be trapped by our ideological angst. The Clinton Campaign is one such moment.
Why do I feel guilty thinking Hillary is a c**t. After all women have been shat on for centuries and the struggle for equality and human dignity is a no-brainer. Unfortunately I have reached the conclusion that a Clinton presidency would do squat for anything I care about.
First, and most important she is a hypocrite. She claims to care about the rights and needs of children, but where is her outrage and demands for justice for the Iraqi children. How can she square her supposed long struggle for the weakest among us and the fact she stood aside mute while the UN sanctions destroyed the Iraqi health care system and the death of tens of thousands of Iraqi kids under the enlightened watch of the Clinton administration.
Second, she keeps touting her speech in Beijing where she demanded that women's rights are a basic human right and no government can claim legitimacy if it ignores the needs of half its population. Once again she is being hypocritical. While I have not googles and/or done a Lexis Nexis search on Hillary Clinton + Iraq + women' rights, I would be willing to wager that the only references that would show up would relate to Saddam's Iraq. I have searched for material on the repatriation of Iraqi refugees and the payment of reparations and I found nothing. If anybody can prove me wrong I am open and happy to be enlightened. Reports from Syria concerning the condition of Iraqi refugees often refer to the fact that many Iraqi women have been forced into the sex industry in order to support their families as the war and its aftermath have made it impossible for them to survive in any other way. Why are Iraqi women somehow less deserving than the sisters Hillary spoke for in Beijing.
Third, to paraphrase Eugene Chadbourne, by voting for the war she is a party to the administration's crimes. She does not deserve to be president because she not only voted for the war, but had voted to fund it every year since. Unlike McCain who voted for the war because he actually supported the overthrow of Saddam, Hillary voted for the war because she did not want to be accused, by a then non-existent challenger I'm a senate race that was four years away and a presidential race that was six years in the future, of being weak on terrorism. Hillary likes to say we should ignore the past and focus on the future. Unfortunately, as was written on the wall at Jonestown, those who ignore the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them so to ignore her vote on the war, coupled with her votes on the war, coupled with her vote on Iran and antipersonnel weapons should make any progressive gag at the idea of her as President.
Fourth, at a gut level it is hard for me to imagine a Clinton Presidency would change squat. If you look back over the course of your lives you must admit that you have dealt with Hillary Clintons on numerous occasions. Hillary Clinton is the person who made you feel like a nobody in High School because you dressed different or hung out with the wrong crowd. At college she mastered Roberts Rules of Order to ensure the status quo was not disturbed. She is the bureaucrat who tells you you can't think for yourself because it is against the rules. She is the political candidate who appeals for your supportvbecause she seems progressiveband then dumps all over your dreams. She is the boss you thought you always wanted who then craps on you when you ask for a fair shake.
I know many of you will read this and think what a sexist fuck but as I said at the beginning there comes a time when you have to slough off your ideological angst and say fuck this.
